Student life really. Essay on student life All about universities and student life

Hello dear. You can often hear that student life is the best years of life. This may be true for some, but not for everyone. And today I would like to talk about how student life goes if you entered a prestigious university for a difficult specialty.

To begin with, I will outline the main areas that I would like to talk about:

  • Student life, daily routine.
  • Club life and just parties.
  • The myth "from session to session, students live happily."

Perhaps a little strange at first glance, the points, but in the process of reading you will understand why I singled them out and called them that way.

Student life, daily routine

I’ll make a reservation right away, we will talk about those cases when you are a diligent and diligent student, striving to get excellent grades and from the very beginning work for the student’s record. It follows that you go to all classes, after classes you diligently do your homework, and so on.

But now let's add moments that are not related to study, but take a decent amount of time, and then we will take all this into account and form an approximate daily routine:

  1. The path to the university. If you live in a hostel and the university is a maximum of 10 minutes on foot, then this item can be ignored. If you are a local resident and live far enough away, then the journey to the university can take from 30 minutes to 3 hours, let's take conditionally 1 hour to the university and the same amount back.
  2. Housework. Here, on the contrary, those who live in a hostel spend more time. They need to cook, clean up, and iron things. In total, all these things can take 1-2 hours. Although the locals also iron and tidy up, cleaning takes place less frequently, because less often guests come who are not averse to littering, but they definitely won’t clean up, and a person is rarely an enemy to himself and will not litter. Thus, about 10-20 minutes are obtained per day.
  3. Internet. It’s hard to say who will spend and how much time, 1 hour is enough for someone, someone can sit for 3 hours. Fans of online games can sit for 10 hours, but we will not consider such cases. Let an average of 2 hours.
  4. Eating, almost forgot. Let about an hour a day.

To summarize, it takes about 5 hours a day for all sorts of non-educational activities. I repeat, approx. Sometimes you can drive from university for 3 hours or someone who loves to cook and is ready to stand at the stove for 4 hours, but this does not happen often.

3 hours to the university, and this is not the capital.

So, a typical daily routine is something like this:

7:30 wake up, shower, breakfast.

Hours until 14-16 study.

Then, it would seem, free time, but you need to take into account the way home, another meal and housework. Let's say, on average, at 17:00 you can be free. And what, you can surf the Internet, go for a walk and generally have fun? No, unfortunately, no. Now we open the notes, where homework is recorded, unfinished reports on laboratory work and barely started term papers and begin to do it diligently. In a bad semester, studying at home will take so much time that there will be no time left for the Internet, the maximum strength will be enough for a shower and for dismantling the bed.

In total, if there are a lot of tasks from teachers in the semester, then going to bed at 01:00 is considered happiness, usually later.

But there are such semesters when there is practically no homework, and then you can get plenty of sleep and take a walk with friends, but more on that in the next subparagraph.

Club life and just parties

club life

TV and the Internet feed schoolchildren and applicants with serials about how fun and carefree student life is, supposedly full of parties, clubs and alcohol. I don’t know how much this all affects the minds of schoolchildren, but it certainly does, it’s not just that they film it and show it all.

But, as could be understood from the previous subparagraph, there may not be time to swirl at all. And honestly, if you want to study and gain knowledge, then do it, besides, among other things, you can get a good scholarship, which is definitely nice. If you just want to have fun for a few more years, then it’s better not to go to universities, why do you need it?

Although you can find time to relax, but it definitely won’t be daily trips to the club, but what’s there daily, not even weekly. In fact, you definitely need to rest. But this is not always possible, simply due to lack of time, so you won’t be able to study well and constantly move from one party to another in a normal university, you simply won’t be admitted to the session and expelled.

The myth "from session to session, students live happily"

Let's start with the question, why do I call the proverb “from session to session students live happily” a myth, and “the first 2 years you work for a record book, then a record book works for you” I don’t consider it a myth? Everything is very simple, I consider the first proverb a myth simply based on what my student life was like. And experience tells me that a student has very little time to live happily. But, I repeat, this is true for prestigious universities and complex specialties. In other institutes of the university where I studied, everything was much simpler. Acquaintances often posted photos from various kinds of events not related to studies, from the photo it was more like it was all just drinking.

But even in my case, there were classmates who managed to visit clubs and bars quite often. Some even completed their studies and received a diploma, but there were very few of them, most were still expelled. And that is why I think that students rarely manage to live happily, although there was one semester when the question arose “What did I forget, what else needs to be done?”, but it was only once.

About the record book again a bitter experience, but not only that. No one sees the record book before the session, but at the department you are all well known by the fourth year. Therefore, the teacher who teaches your classes for the first time already knows you in absentia, knows that those three are excellent students, those five are interrupted from two to three, two more are almost excellent students, there is not enough, and the rest are average. In accordance with this, the attitude of the teacher will not be much, but will differ from the very beginning of the semester. Well, by the session, the teacher will already know you well personally and, most likely, will know that you are a really good student, which will favorably affect the exam results.

As a conclusion, I would like to say that student life is really the best years of life, try not to waste this time in vain. Also try not to waste health

Good day, dear reader! This article is primarily dedicated to those who will come to the university this September as a freshman.

Many of today's applicants and schoolchildren have no idea how the life of a student differs from the life of the same student. Indeed, from the outside it seems that a schoolboy and a student are almost the same thing. The same study, the same notes. But that's just how it seems. In fact, student life is very different from school.

Therefore, we decided to write this article so that schoolchildren and applicants understand all the main points student life.

Conventionally, we divide student life into two parts. The first part deals directly with educational activities: attending lectures, notes, sessions, etc. In the second part, we will reveal the main points outside the student's academic life. The topics of the hostel, personal life, plans for the future, etc. will be presented there.

It seems to us that the article constructed in this way will allow you, dear readers, to better understand and feel your future student life. So, let's begin.

First, we will look at what the student does during class time. After all, after all, the most important task for a student is to study, and if possible, well.

As soon as you arrive at the university, the first thing you will do is attend lectures. Lectures are theoretical classes in which various knowledge on the subject is given. One lecture can last a whole school day (4-5 pairs).

A couple is a time interval that is equal to 2 regular lessons at school (2×45 minutes). But most often in one day you will be given 2 pairs of 2 different items.

After you have gone through a certain amount of theoretical material, say on the History of Russia, you will have seminars on this subject in your schedule.

Seminars are a "practical" application of the acquired knowledge. Usually at seminars they consolidate the material covered, listen to reports on various topics, watch presentations.

>Seminars are usually much less than lectures. It may even not exist at all. By the way, you should know that the so-called colloquia are sometimes put in place of seminars.

What is this terrible word, colloquium?

Don't be afraid, these are, in fact, the same seminars, only with their own specifics. Colloquia are usually held in mathematics. They go as follows: after your group has gone through a certain number of lectures, you will be asked to learn them (for example, from the 5th to the 14th topic) and then the teacher will personally ask each of the students in your group a topic .

This is the difference between a colloquium and a seminar: a colloquium is aimed at consolidating the knowledge of each student individually, and a seminar is aimed at consolidating the material covered in your entire group in general.

You need to go to classes, be it at least a lecture or a seminar. Every lesson matters. If you make it a habit from the first days of your studies to skip "uninteresting" subjects, then this can become a bad habit.

Then all these absenteeism will come back to you during the session. Therefore, if you decide to study well at the university, then start student life no problem.

Although they said that in the first part of the article we will consecrate only the educational life of a student, however, it is here that it is necessary to say about extracurricular activities. These activities, in fact, are also part of the study, so we write about them here.

Everyone knows that students live happily. And they do this through participation in various events held within the walls of the university. KVN, skits, Miss and Mr. University - these events are integral attributes of student life. Therefore, as soon as you arrive at the university, be prepared that you will almost immediately be “recruited” to participate in various competitions, reviews, quizzes, etc.

You, most likely, will have a logical question: is it necessary to participate in this whole business? You came to the university to study, not to engage in amateur performances.

That's how it is, only boring lectures, you will soon forget (after the session, for sure, about it a little later), but you will have memories of various holidays for a lifetime.

Even if you forget something, the photos that are taken at any event will refresh your memory. Wouldn't you take pictures of lectures every time, so that later you can remember how they went with you? But competitions and KVNs will always be captured on photo and video cameras.

Therefore, if you are offered to take part in any competition, then by all means agree, provided that a) you are really interested in it and b) that participation in competitions will not affect your academic performance. Still, you should put your studies in the first place, and everything else - only then.

After you study at a higher educational institution for six months (i.e. from the second semester), you will be attracted to various scientific conferences.

At first, just as a spectator, then, as you begin to understand how to do science, you will be asked to write independent scientific papers and defend them before the student scientific society.

A student scientific society is an organization of students in a university that is engaged in scientific work among students. Usually it is arranged like this: the chairman of the SSS gives the order to prepare reports to all members of the SSS.

Then they all meet at the plenary session and read out the best reports there. Naturally, it is physically impossible to read out all the reports there.

Therefore, after the plenary session, all its participants disperse into sections. Each section is responsible for any one direction. For example, there is a section of management and historical sciences, etc.

Everyone is already participating in the section. Then the commission sums up all the performances, and the winners receive diplomas and prizes. For you first-year students, the most important thing to understand from this is that CHO is a great opportunity to express yourself.

If you are fond of something, even if it does not concern your immediate specialty, sign up for the SSS and do a good scientific paper on your favorite topic. Perhaps this will be the beginning of your professional career for you.

In any case, you will benefit from participation in the AtoN in any case, because. get a useful experience that you will need more than once. Therefore, if you have a desire to do science - go ahead, SNO is waiting for you!

In addition to all of the above, students go in for sports during their studies at the university. Physical education lessons are a matter of course, besides them, various sports competitions are constantly held within the walls of the university.

Football, volleyball, basketball, running, cross-country skiing, swimming in the pool - these are just some of the sports that you can play within the walls of the university.

After all, not everyone likes to participate in recreational activities or engage in science - for someone, "their element" is sports. Perhaps if a person loves sports more than lectures in his main subjects, then he should have entered some sports specialty.

However, many people love sports and physical education just as entertainment. Few people want to connect their future life with sports.

Therefore, even if you study, say, for mathematics, no one forbids you to do your favorite pastime within the walls of your educational institution. You can play for a university team in any sport.

And, by the way, let's tell you a secret: if you defend the honor of the university on the sports ground, then it will be credited to you.

Teachers will be more lenient with you than with other students. By the way, this pattern also applies to those who take part in KVN or participate in the scientific life of their university.

Therefore, the conclusion is this - if you want to successfully study at the university - be active not only at lectures and seminars!

If you are not a student yet, then after reading the previous part of the article, you might think that studying at the university is very simple.

Know that you only go to lectures and seminars, and you can spend the rest of the time as you wish. Such a large set of different features is made on purpose, because. University is the starting point for independent adult life.

And life is full of various possibilities, as you know. That is why within the walls of your university they are trying to create something similar so that you understand and finally decide what you want from life. Maybe you chose the wrong specialty, maybe you like to do something else.

In general, student years are years of searching for oneself. That is why you will have such a busy student life. Find your way within the walls of the university, and then you will not dangle back and forth in adulthood.

[A student's life is full of events, just choose!]

But this is so, a lyrical digression. It was made in order to bring you to the most important event in the life of a student - to pass the exam.

A session is a period of time when students are tested on their knowledge of the subject they have completed in six months. Simply put, this is the most intense and stressful time in a measured fun student life.

Your final grade on the exam depends on how you worked at lectures and seminars throughout the semester. Also, do not forget that participation in various extracurricular activities, scientific sections and sports teams is a plus for you on the exam.

Here we will not dwell in detail, we will only say that if you regularly went to almost all classes, completed all the tasks on time, then you have nothing to be afraid of the session. Only those who have been fooling around for six months should be afraid of her. If you want more details, then read the article above. Everything is detailed there.

The next part of the article is devoted to the life of a student during extracurricular time. After all, learning doesn't end there. Every day you will leave the doors of your university and go home. Therefore, below we will tell you about the main things students do in their free time.

It's good when you study in the same city where you have parents and your own room in the apartment. However, the majority of first-year students come from other cities, and live during their studies at the university in a hostel. A hostel is, first of all, one of the stages of your life. A free life full of all sorts of emotions.

How to live in a hostel? How to survive there?

It often happens that when you come to settle in a room, you come there, and a terrible picture appears before your eyes - a small room, 4 beds, a closet and peeled wallpaper.

Yes, and here you have to live 5 years! Such a thought can frighten anyone. Therefore, in order to start life in the hostel on the right foot, you have to push your parents to help you redecorate the room.

However, you will live with other students who also have parents and their own thoughts about the renovation. Therefore, in order to avoid bad relations from the very beginning of your residence in the hostel, you should meet with other residents and their parents together and discuss who will be responsible for what.

Who will buy new wallpapers, who will buy a TV, and who will help with linoleum. By doing this, you will reduce your renovation costs and get to know the people with whom you will share a room for several years.

Another important issue regarding living in a hostel is food. Food is a student's problem, especially if he lives in a student hostel. Regarding this, we advise you to read the article: How a student should eat properly in a dormitory There we described in detail how and what you should eat in a dormitory.

Every young person needs money. After all, now almost all entertainment is paid. Therefore, students have a question: where to find pocket money? Many of the students start working almost from the first year of their studies at the university.

Thus, such students inexcusably skip classes a lot, which, ultimately, has a bad effect on their academic performance. Such people often hang in the balance from leaving the university.

Therefore, we immediately warn you against such a step. You don't have to work all day if you're a full-time student! This is the law. Forget about work all day long. She is not for you.

What then to do? Sitting without money and sucking your thumb?

You don't have to work all day.

But no one forbids you to earn extra money after school or on weekends. Don't know who? Then read our next articles: Summer part-time work for schoolchildren and students and Ways to earn money for schoolchildren and students.

From these articles, you will understand that, in fact, it is not difficult for a student to earn money, you just need to be smart and a little diligent.

Did you think we forgot about it? Of course, let's forget something else! For many students, student years are years of active search for their other half. Many even decipher the abbreviation VUZ as "get married successfully."

So, dear freshmen, if you don't have a loved one yet, then it's time to find one.

Just do not start searching from the very first day of training. Learn at least six months, look around. You have a few more years ahead of you, so you will definitely find the one you are looking for.

If you have not yet had a close relationship with the opposite sex, then, dear freshmen, be prepared - soon everything will be. So ... be prepared at least from the moral side. Do not be afraid to make contact, do not complex, and then you will find your soul mate very soon.

4. Dreams about the future.

When you come to study at the university, you will almost immediately begin to think about what you will do after graduation.

After all, 4-5 years that you will study at a university is a very short period of time. You could say it's a moment. Therefore, many students, while still on the student bench, begin to think about who they will be in 5-10 years after graduation. And it is right. If you think about it, it means that you care about your future.

But how to achieve everything that you so dream of? We have a very useful article on this site called How to implement youth plans? We strongly recommend that you read it. There you will find many answers to your questions.

Here we will just say that the foundation of the foundations, your “foundation”, “guiding star” will be the goal. If you don't have a goal in life, then you will never achieve what you want. Also, it would be nice to have an action plan in front of your eyes to achieve the goal. A plan is a list of specific tasks that you need to complete in order to bring your cherished goal closer to you.

Therefore, remember, dear freshmen and all those who read this article, if you do not have a goal and a plan, then your life is a series of accidents that make you stagnate. You just don't know where to go, where to go.

Conclusion : Life of a student very different from the life of the same student. Every first-year student should know how education is organized at the university in order to come to study on September 1 to be ready for all the difficulties and joys of student life.

In the framework of this article, we tried to briefly describe the main moments of the life of students.

Someone skips this period, immediately after school goes to work, gaining knowledge, when faced with the problem of raising the career ladder, then looking for an opportunity to buy a diploma of higher education; this happens for various reasons: it didn’t work out right away, and then didn’t want to, difficult financial situation, confidence in their self-educational level, etc. Everyone has their own life path, but those who are lucky enough to become a student will have to face a number of problems. Here are the top ten.

1. How can you live on a scholarship?!

When you get it, sometimes you start to envy the “payers”, because they don’t have to worry about the question of what to spend these crumbs on. However, if you set yourself the goal of acquiring something worthwhile (provided that relatives help with money for existence), then it is possible without withdrawing a scholarship for six months or a year and adding the money earned in the summer, then it is quite possible to carry out the plan.

2. Sleep deprivation.

And it's not always the education that's to blame. The student spends nights at the computer, on social networks, in a noisy company with classmates. And in the morning, completely broken, he comes to lectures and swears that today he will go to bed early, in extreme cases, sleep off at the weekend. But, if you live in a student hostel, then this is absolutely impossible.

3. Session.

From session to session, students live happily, and then, SUDDENLY, exams come. The student in recent days is trying to catch up on everything lost, instead of systematically preparing for the exam from day to day. Remember that you went to study not because your parents forced you, but this is your deliberate choice of a future profession, so you should take a responsible approach to your studies throughout the semester.

4. Where can I find food?

Even if you know how to cook, after a hard day at school it’s hard to find the strength to cook, most likely you will get off with fast food, but you won’t last long on such food. You can ask for a visit or starve. The most effective way is to cook food for the future, then the next day it remains only to warm it up. You can arrange kitchen duty with your roommates, then this is a sure way not to stay hungry.

5. Where to go to have fun?

Student life is complete freedom, everyone manages it in their own way. The student's leisure is full of entertainment - these are clubs, bars, cinemas, billiards, etc. Depending on financial capabilities and personal interests.

6. Parents or "everything secret becomes clear."

You messed up and are now worried in anticipation of the reaction of your parents. The worst thing that can upset your parents is failure. However, there are no hopeless situations. You can agree with the curator on a delay and within a couple of weeks to prove that you are able to improve. All in your hands.

7. Search for love.

Learning feelings is not a hindrance, although some are so carried away by a loved one, dissolve in it and forget about the true purpose of entering a university. Do not lose your head, think about your future.

8. Cribs.

They are a must for any student. Absolutely everyone writes them, but not everyone uses them. It is a well-known fact that simply writing cheat sheets can prepare you well for the exam, because you process information, choose the main thing and take notes.

9. I want the same.

More often this problem concerns the female. I want to dress like that classmate over there, but how not to merge into the crowd, to remain an individual. You need to learn how to choose the same style, but with something that stands out, maybe add an accessory to the outfit. The main thing is that it suits you perfectly.

10. White crow.

Not everyone accepts your passion? Do not pay attention, continue to do what you love, when it starts to bring the first successes, you will see how quickly the attitude of classmates towards you will change for the better. Be yourself!

1. Attending lectures, seminars.

There are usually much fewer seminars than lectures.

Then all these absenteeism will come back to haunt you during the delivery of the session. Therefore, if you decide to study well at the university, then start student life no problem.

2. Participation in various extracurricular activities.

3. Scientific activity.

If you are interested in something, even if it does not concern your immediate specialty, sign up for the SSS and do a good scientific paper on your favorite topic. Perhaps this will be the beginning of your professional career for you. In any case, you will benefit from participation in the AtoN in any case, because. get a useful experience that you will need more than once. Therefore, if you have a desire to do science - go ahead, SNO is waiting for you!

4. Sports, sports, sports.

5. Surrender of the session.

In general, the student years are the years of searching for oneself.

Life of a student outside of school hours

The next part of the article is devoted to the life of a student during extracurricular time. After all, learning doesn't end there. Every day you will leave the doors of your university and go home. Therefore, below we will tell you about the main things students do in their free time.

1. Living in a hostel.

Regarding this, we advise you to read the article: How a student should eat properly in a hostel There we described in detail how and what you should eat in a hostel.

2. Money problem.

3. Personal life.

Did you think we forgot about it? Of course, let's forget something else! For many students, student years are years of active search for their other half. Many even decipher the abbreviation VUZ as "get married successfully." So, dear freshmen, if you don't have a loved one yet, then it's time to find one.

We have a very useful article on this site on this site, which is called How to implement youth plans?

Conclusion: The life of a student is very different from the life of the same student. Every first-year student should know how education is organized at the university in order to come to study on September 1 to be ready for all the difficulties and joys of student life. In the framework of this article, we tried to briefly describe the main moments of the life of students.
